Small Group – Bondage Breakers of Break Every Bondage

You don’t have to live as if you are in chains! But harmful habits, negative thinking, and irrational feelings can all lead to sinful behavior and keep you in bondage. Bondage Brakers is 12-session small group that will focus on a holistic approach to deliverance that is rooted in the word of God. We will examine the underlying whys and how’s behind bondage and give pathways to sustained deliverance. Together in community, we will become Bondage Breakers!

Small Group Covenant Agreement

Covenant Purpose 

The purpose of having a group covenant is to try to provide a predictable environment where attenders can experience authentic community and spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:2-3, 29, 32).

Group Values

  • Relationships – While prayer and discussion of curriculum are key elements of a small group, the driving force behind the group is the building of relationships (John 17:21; 1 Thessalonians 5:11).
  • Authenticity – The atmosphere of a small group should encourage openness and transparency among members. This is an environment where people should feel free to be themselves (James 1:26).
  • Confidentiality – For authenticity to occur, members must be able to trust that issues discussed within a small group will not be shared outside the group (Proverbs 11:13).
  • Respect – Group members should never say anything that will embarrass another member or members of the group (Romans 12:10).
  • Availability – A primary responsibility of community is to prioritize for specific relationships. This requires a willingness to be available to meet each other’s needs (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Group Goals

  1. This group study schedule will meet from July 13, 2022 through December 7, 2022. Group members are expected to be present and on time for each session. Only 1 prior communicated absence is allowed. If absence exceeds 1, group member will be asked to sit out the remainder of the session and await a future time to sign up when schedule permits.
  2. This group will meet on Wednesday’s. The group sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end around 8:30 p.m. Please be on time so the group has enough time for the various elements of a meeting without running over.
  3. The group time will typically consist of about 15 minutes for sharing/social time; about 45 minutes for study and discussion time, and about 15 minutes for prayer time.
  4. After the first-class session, this group will close and not be accepting new members.
  5. Group members are expected to attend and participate in each meeting. Please email the pastor ([email protected]) at least 48 hours prior to session if you will not be able to attend.
  6. Members agree to pray for other group members on a weekly basis between meetings. Pray for members to honestly pursue their next steps in their spiritual growth.

  • Be prepared and ready to participate in the discussion.
  • Keep confidential the personal information shared at Small Group.
  • Create a safe place for each member to share with no judgments attached.
  • Be transparent and accountable to the group concerning my spiritual growth.
  • Take ownership of my responsibility of being faithful, accountable, and teachable.
  • Pray regularly for my fellow Small Group members.
  • Pray regularly for the pastors of The Freedom Church.
