About This Role

The Worship & Arts Pastor serves as the coordinating point to all aspects of worship and performing arts.  An eye for excellence, passion for detail and a heart to recruit and develop others is essential in this role. The Worship & Arts Pastor will organize and implement worship for weekend services and special events with high-level creativity and excellence. Compensation for this position is negotiable.

 

Ministry Leader Culture-Driven Responsibilities 

  1. Oversee, manage and motivate a strong and effective ministry team. 
  2. Responsible for recruiting new team members for the growth of the ministry. 
  3. Provides monthly quality checks on performance goals, struggles, and areas of improvement. 
  4. Facilitate ministry team meetings on a consistent basis
  5. Coach team members into vision-building, effective ministry habits and biblical principles of ministry for spiritual growth. 
  6. Foster an environment for innovation and creativity to create strategies for vision alignment and progression of the ministry.

 

Ministry Specific Responsibilities

  1. Recruit, train, equip, and oversee all Worship & Arts Team Leads.
  2. Oversee all aspects of the music ministry, ensuring to create and support an atmosphere of vibrant worship through compelling musical experiences.
  3. Create a monthly set list to include song lyrics, music and other worship materials. 
  4. Keep current in performance arts resources and technologies that enhance and engage the overall experience.
  5. Meet on a regular basis with Worship & Arts Team Leads providing encouragement and evaluation regarding job performance.
  6. Participate in directors’ meetings, creative meetings and leadership retreats to provide evaluations and feedback to the team of directors.
  7. All other duties as assigned.

Strengths & Skill Set

  • Has a heart for the spiritual formation of those of the congregation and the worship and arts ministries.
  • Experience in vocal, choral and instrumental direction and training is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of different expressions of worship (styles and ethnicities)
  • Skilled in use of technology in worship.
  • Timely in meeting deadlines and ministry expectations.
  • Does not settle for mediocrity. Always striving for excellence.
  • Creative in leading people and a demonstrated ability to work with people of all ages.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communicator and self-starter.
  • Ability to train others and develop and lead a team.
  • A team player with a passion for ministry.
  • Highly effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

 

Your Team

This position reports to the Chief of Staff.
